Do you have a pick me up?
You know, something you can read on the days when you feel like you want to stay in bed forever because, honestly, things can get overwhelming. Life can become a bit too much.
And to help myself feel better, I tend to turn to my comfort food (ice cream!) to help with this.
But there are days when food isn't enough...
Sometimes negative thoughts consume you and you don't believe you are good enough or deserve good things to happen to you. Sometimes we compare ourselves to others and situations and then come to the conclusion that we are no good. It can happen anytime and anywhere- workplaces, schools, places of worship and the list goes on.
I've had many of those days. My pillows are can testify to the number of days when I cried myself to sleep or just didn't feel as if I was good enough. I listened to something that should not have been given much thought and it dampens my mood.
But you know what?
It is important to remind ourselves that even though we may think we are not good enough, in reality, we are more than enough. It's a battle our minds not to believe the lies that are on repeat.
I wrote the following piece when I was having a truly awful day. Negative thoughts filled my mind and I could not get rid of them. Sitting on the edge of my bed, I asked myself-If I am truly not good enough, how did I reach so far? One after the other, everything that God did for me began flooding my memory. Gentle reminders that I can do all things through Him.
I still have my "pick me up" stuck on my wardrobe and whenever a sliver of a negative thought tries to defeat me, I read this:
In this life, rely on God only.
Don't allow others to tell you how good you are- you are good enough,
Don't rely on others to tell you how smart you are- you are smart enough,
Don't rely on others to tell you ANYTHING that you damn well know and should know already-
YOU ARE MORE THAN ENOUGH.
God sees something in you. He knows your worth,
Stop letting insecurities, doubts and fears limit you.
You can be your own worst enemy sometimes to the point where it can be crippling,
But remember this;
He started this work, this journey that you are on,
HE WILL FINISH IT.
Trust Him. Rely on Him. Call out to Him.
Let Him renew your strength. Let Him be your guide. He was with Daniel. He was with Joseph.
He IS with you.
You may not have the answers for everything but...
YOUR life is in the hands of the One who knows everything.
Don't compare yourself to others. Be the BEST version of TyTy :)
Only you can do so.
Smile Boo. Work hard but most importantly...ENJOY LIFE.
God gots you boo!
He loves you SO MUCH!
He gots you!
What do you tell yourself when you have one of those days? What reminds you that despite it all, you are more than worthy?
Let's all remember this:
"You will never speak to anyone more than you speak to yourself in your head. Be kind to yourself." (tinybuddha.com)

We’ve endured and overcome our most difficult challenges. So we have a 100% record of overcoming.
God didn’t give us a spirit of weakness. He made us in his image, so we’re godlike in many aspects.
Bad days are now frequent and depression is everywhere.
But we will make it pass these days. I dare not linger on the bad days, because better days are ahead
